Packaging of Halvatzis handmade halva with dark chocolate

Handmade Halva with Dark Chocolate by Family Halvatzis (est. 1972)

During my holidays in Greece I accidentally found Handmade Halva with Dark Chocolate by Family Halvatzis in one supermarket. Without any doubt I bought it because: a) there was the only box left on the shelf; b) its price seemed quite expensive; c) and how could I refuse to taste unheard-of handmade halva? All these arguments promted me that it should be a good catch 🙂

The packaging of Handmade Halva with Dark Chocolate by Family Halvatzis was well designed, so it looked really inviting. The halva itself was also good, but not so great as I have expected. Mainly because it appeared too sugary (at least for me). As there was plenty of chocolate swirled in this halva, the sweetness level seemed increased respectively and this thing obviously damped the taste. The texture also wasn’t perfect. It hardly kept the form when I tried to cut this dessert, also it used to be a little bit sticky. But discussed halva had some required bitterness, what made me value it more positively.

After all I decided that other kinds of Family Halvatzis halva (with vanilla, cocoa or almonds) could be possibly better than this one with dark chocolate, which I have tasted. Still, you may like it very much, especially if you are more into sweet halva 🙂
