To be honest, I almost missed my plain because of very wide assortment of Greek halva in the duty free shop in Heraklion airport. I just stood still there for a long while, trying to figure out what should I buy 🙂 But I ended up with the decision to take almost all halva, which looked more similar to common production than touristic.
Handmade Halva with Cocoa by Ofelia was one of the best picks. It was pretty sweet, bitter enough and with plenty of cocoa. The taste was very rich and really strong (I could even say – a long lasting). Obviously it should have been like that, because the tahini for this halva was produced in-house and the halva itself was handmade following the traditional recipe (according to the statement on the packaging).
The texture of discussed treat was soft, quite crunchy and a little bit sticky, but anyway it was easy to cut this halva into nice pieces. I liked it very much and I would definitely buy Handmade Halva with Cocoa by Ofelia again, so I recommend it to others.
To tell the truth, it tasted similar as Halva with Cocoa by Cretamel or Makedonikos Halvas with Cocoa by Haitoglou Bros. If you liked any of these halva, you should enjoy that one, too.
