Recently, promted by some nostalgic mood, I bought Sunflower Halva with Peanuts by Zolotoi Vek. During the childhood only such type of halva was available in my homeland, therefore I saved some sweet memories about this quite unusual dessert. Let’s point that in those days our choice was limited to either plain sunflower halva or upgraded version with peanuts. None of us did even know that originally it should be made from tahini! 🙂
So, after a long break I decided to taste sunflower halva again. As the production of Zolotoi Vek didn‘t upset me before, I grabbed a package of Sunflower Halva with Peanuts (made by forementioned Ukrainian manufacturer) in local mega store. To be honest, I was really curious to try it and, fortunately, I was left pleasantly surprised afterwards!
This halva appeared pretty enjoyable: not too sweet and full of crunchy roasted peanuts. It almost had no sunflower oil aftertaste – some habitual attribute of such kind of halva. Thus everything seemed great and it tasted even better than I had expected. The only imperfection was a quite dry and crumbly texture, which made it difficult to cut.
Anyhow, I’m pretty sure that Sunflower Halva with Peanuts by Zolotoi Vek could be a right pick, in case you want to try some different halva.
