If for some reason you don’t want or can’t relish the traditional milkshakes, don’t think the game is over. A vegan banana tahini shake with dates can serve you as equally (if not more) delicious replacement. I found its recipe on Food porn, vegan style blog, but made some slight changes during the making process.

Everything is very simple. Just put 1 ripe fresh banana into blender, pour in 1 cup of cold water and some salt, add 1 tablespoon of tahini and 2 dried dates. Blend until smooth. That’s it. Serve right away.

This vegan banana tahini shake with dates is pretty sweet, but pleasantly bitter from the tahini. Also have in mind that this drink is not only tasty, but very nourishing. Believe me, once you’ve tried it, you’ll never long for the usual milkshake anymore 🙂

Ingredients (1 serving):

1 ripe banana (it can be frozen)
1 tablespoon of tahini ( I used Turkish tahini Suntat)
2 dates (I used Deglet Nour variety)
1 glass of cold water
1 sprinkle of salt

Additional information:

You may add some vanilla or cinammon if desired
Soak dates 10-15 min in warm water in case they are very dry
If you want to get more creamy texture, use a frozen banana
