Packaging of Handmade Halva with Vanilla Flavour by Kandylas

Handmade Halva with Vanilla Flavour by Kandylas (est. 1927)

Handmade Halva with Vanilla Flavour by Kandylas didn‘t impress me very much. Its taste appeared rather raw and, perhaps, too simple (as it was based mainly on sesame paste and vanilla aroma). What I disliked was some sharp bitterness which I have felt. And at the same time it seemed too sweet. So, the most likely you would need a cup of tea or coffee to please yourself in a better way with this treat. The texture of Handmade Halva with Vanilla Flavour was quite gummy and sticky. OK, that’s quite usual for thin pieces of halva which you find in packages weighting 200 g or even less. But still… the process of cutting it was a real challenge 🙂

Finally, I decided that this Handmade Halva with Vanilla Flavour presents nothing special at all. And you may find plenty of more worthy choices (including the other sorts of Kandylas halva).
