Packaging of Halva with Pistachios by Achva

Halva with Pistachios by Achva (est. 1929)

It’s so strange that in huge Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport you may find the production of only one Israeli halva producer – Achva. As this dessert is very popular in the promised land, traveller like me expects for the much wider choice. Anyhow, I found some consolation after buying and tasting Halva with Pistachios by Achva, which was pretty good.

Actually I liked it right away! The modest sweetness made a perfect pair with some delicate bitterness, so the taste was clear and pleasant. Some crunchy pistachios strengthened the nutty flavor and that was very significant element of this halva. The texture also appeared classic: soft (but not oily) and a little bit crunchy. So Halva with Pistachios by Achva was really praiseworthy and savory treat.

In addition, I think that it was not pricey at all. If this halva have contained more of pistachios, it could have got even higher rating. Noticeably the packaging could have been better, too.
